HPV Conditions

HPV

HPV, which is short for Human Papilloma Virus, is a major factor in the development of cervical, vaginal and vulvar cancer and precancer.  The precancer is called dysplasia. HPV is very common and is found in up to 80% of college-aged women, but does not cause disease except for a small percentage of cases.  However, this is not something to ignore because it can lead to cancer.  Immunization is very effective.  We cover the issues here on the G.O. Institute blog.
